When did they start reassessing lwcra again scotland ?

As I advised, for the majority of people they havenโt restarted yet.
Only those with LCW are being reviewed.

I know ChatGPT can sometimes get things wrong, but for what it's worth:
Here is the quesiton I asked it: I'm now worried because I said in a topic on the Scope forum 'I thought people on LWCRA weren't being reassessed anymore?' and someone replied with 'That's not what the current Government has said.' Are they correct?
ChatGPT said:
Your question on the Scope forum reflects recent changes in the reassessment process for LCWRA recipients, and youโre generally correct. The DWP announced in 2023 that most LCWRA claimants would no longer face reassessment, except under very limited circumstances, like significant health changes. The government's official stance confirms this policy shift, aiming to limit reassessments for existing LCWRA cases unless triggered by a specific condition or health changeโ
Disability News ServiceโBenefits and Work.
The person on the forum might be cautious, as policies can evolve, and in specific situations, individual cases might still undergo reassessment. However, under the latest guidance, most people with LCWRA status should indeed be protected from routine reassessments.
Maybe sim123, you are under one of those very limited circumstances or in one of those specific situations where people will get reassessed.

ChatGPT isn't a reliable source of information full stop.
The articles linked to were written in 2022 & 2023 both under the previous Conservative Government.
That it calls the information "latest guidance" is laughable.
Labour have said they are developing their own plans and we'll know more about those in the Spring.
Until then re assessments will continue, although they are currently very limited in number due to massive backlogs, and system capacity being focused on new claims & changes of circumstances.
Moves have been made to recruit assessors, and assessment providers have been streamlined (regionalised), but when they will resume at scale is anyone's guess. Even ChatGPT's ๐

ChatGPT can be a bit of a difficult one @Ross1975, as Kimmy says, it can often draw it's sources from out-of-date information. It's a useful tool for some things, but unfortunately not a good place to get benefits advice at the moment. We really appreciate that you were trying to help, though ๐

Interesting. I mentioned your post to ChatGPT and it said this:
The reply you received highlights the dynamic nature of government policies, particularly with the possibility of new directions under a future Labour government. Here's the current situation based on available information:
- Disability News ServiceโBenefits and Work.
- Labour's Plans:
Labour has indicated they are developing their own approach to welfare and assessments, with further details expected in spring 2024. However, until Labour is in government and those plans are enacted, current policies remain in place. It's important to note that changes would not be immediate, as legislative and operational updates take time. - Benefits and Work.
What This Means for You:
While the forum user raises valid points about the potential for change, current policies suggest that most LCWRA recipients are unlikely to face reassessments unless one of the specific triggering conditions applies. Itโs worth keeping an eye on future developments, especially as Labour outlines its plans, but thereโs no indication that existing LCWRA recipients will see a widespread return of reassessments soon.

Proves my point I'm afraid.
It's a year out as to when Labour will reveal their plans, and doesn't seem to realise they got elected a few months ago and are now running the country.

Re-assessments for the vast majority have been suspended for several years now, as a result massive backlogs exist within the system.
Assessment resources are being focused on new claims and changes in circumstance.
Assessment providers have fairly recently been streamlined (divided by region) and recruitment for assessors is ongoing.
When re-assessments will resume at scale is anyone's guess.

Nothing has changed from the previous advice given.
Maybe Labour will indicate something in their plans to be announced in the Spring.

Hi, is not being re assessed on lcwra a good thing ?
0 -
Yes because LCWRA has no end date. It carries on being paid until such a time as you are found to be fit for work or have LCW.

hi been on lcwra and adp since july 22 with alcohol and depression issues....Even though i have problems with a bad ankle injury sustained 6 years ago and been waiting on operation for 4 years which the cunsultant says is not currently operable because its infected!!
my gp refuses to class me as having mobility issues so it is not registered as an issue because of the usual if you drink or smoke attitude thats the underlying root cause of all your problems.
will alcohol and depression issues be attacked in the first swipe ?
