Hi guys. Been on here a while, just basically getting advice. I'm 52 ex service centre manager and now struggling. Been accepted for pip and lcwra. I'm just so bored and feel guilty not being able to work. Since lockdown I think I have left the home maybe 4 times. As I was wfh, but now forced to leave my employment due to bad health, and I just seem stuck. I have my Mrs but she is as always working or tired when home. Have any of you guys felt the lockdown ruined a lot of things. Mental health being the main one. I feel I'm still stuck in the lockdown. Sounds weird right. I'm pretty easy going. Like the usual gaming, football, nfl. Up for chatting to new people, gain new friends etc. It just seems so hard at the moment.

Hi @Paulbee1122. I'm sorry you're struggling with this. You shouldn't feel guilty for not being able to work. Many members here are in the same situation and will be able to relate to how you're feeling. Lockdown has definitely changed a lot of things. It seems surreal that we had to go through that! Have you thought about what you are able to do and what would make you happy? You already have some interests which is a great start and you like meeting new people. Are there any groups you could join or start a new hobby that would help you get out of the house?

Hi Rachel.. It's difficult as moved to a new area just before lockdown. It's pretty secluded. Nice countryside but I never get out to see it.. Think I will start will short walks and go from there.

Ask your GP to refer you to a social prescriber? They know what’s available in your area and can help you access it

Starting with short walks is a great idea @Paulbee1122, especially if you're lucky enough to live in the countryside. Although I don't know if I'd start today as it's so cold! Hopeless makes a good point about a social prescriber. Here's some information about them. Let us know if it's something you'll look into or how your walks go 😊
