Focus on the Disability Price Tag
- Our new Disability Price Tag report shows disabled households now need, on average, an £1,010 extra each month, just to have the same standard of living as non-disabled households.
Scope, will you please qualify this statement with some disabled households?
A severely disabled person may well need this extra amount but most of us don't. You're talking about an extra £1,010. This could easily reinforce negative attitudes towards anyone on benefits!
In an ideal world we would all thrive and not just survive but I think this is asking for too much.

Hello @WhatThe, I'm not an expert and can't talk for the whole Price Tag report but I think it is qualified by the word 'average'. Some households will need considerably more and some households may need less.
To bring a disabled household's standard of living to the same standard as a non-disabled household, research shows that disabled households would require on average an additional £1010 each month.

The mean average of me and a millionaire...? How helpful is that in the current disability benefits affordability debate in the media?
Needing and wanting are not the same thing.
