Hi, my name is claredog11! Housing officer asked for more evidence for my daughter, any advice?
Hi I am an unpaid carer/ mother to two neurodiverse children .
My daughter is an adult and has been on the social housing list for 5 years 3 months - band D bidding every week .
I have proved all her ID , income , diagnosis’ , a letter from her psychiatrist saying she feels it would benefit her to live independently/ my wellbeing co- ordinator wrote to her housing officer explaining the toll my daughters behaviours / meltdowns affect the household and the impact on my mental health .
they have replied asking for more evidence - she has a blue badge receives enhanced pip / etc - I don’t know more evidence I can provide them with -
Is there any law / legal obligation- anything that could help her banding go up to a C - it still wouldn’t be imminent - but hopefully it would assure her that she won’t be stuck here forever and she can stop taking her frustration out on / us ?
I love her but I don’t like her / the way she treats me . I would support her on her terms if she had her own place and needed any .
Any information would really help . Thanks

@claredog11 you need to contact your local adult services for an Occupational Therapist housing needs assessment to be done. This seems to be the only medical proof that councils and housing associations accept for medical priority housing band.
