Has anyone else had an phone call from DWP about new style ESA commitments linked to UC claim?
Once again Ive been left in the dark about this whole process, is utter disgrace..
My son can't speak to those people so how will this work, mind you are they that clueless??

A commitments appointment for NS ESA is completely normal and part of the process.
His only commitment will be to keep them informed of any changes.
If he cannot manage the claim himself, you (or someone else) can become his appointee
How did he manage communication with his legacy ESA claim?

Then what is this 30min phone call all about then?

The letters/messages that go out are standard generic communications which assume it's a new claim.
Your son is a transfer from CB ESA not a new claim.
See the last post on this thread where OP's husband went through the same.

DWP should be ashamed of themselves. It clear as day there is no care for anyone transferring over, and there don't explain **** all.

To be honest when you ring any DWP department they are call centre staff, not benefits advisors and not DWP staff either.
Once everything is up and running there shouldn't be any issues with UC or ESA and both should run smoothly together.
The only reason it's frustrating is because many people don't understand the process.

You have so much knowledge wish you lived next door how did you learn it all by yourself you know more than all the job centre staff I wish I had your brains
