Universal credit Lcw

hi I’ve noticed a few people are having the same problem I claimed u c in July was given transitional payment .when I applied for and was awarded Lcw My payments changed and now I get less I do claim carers allowance for my son Sorry I’m new to scope so hope I’ve put my message in the right place

Do you mean you were awarded LCWRA, rather than LCW? If so and your UC included the carers element then the same person can't receive both LCWRA and carers element at the same time. In this case only the higher element is paid.
As your UC also included Transitional Protection, this will erode with the additional LCWRA element and they will also removed the carers element so yes you could be worse off.
Carers allowance is a separate benefit to UC and is deducted in full from any UC entitlement and isn't affected by the LCWRA element.
There is an Upper Tribunal case about this but no decision has been made yet.
