hi, I have been awarded lcwra, but unsure when my first payment will be, my first sick note when I’m on the 30th July, with no gaps, and I received uc the 22nd of every month.

Your waiting period will be Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov… LCWRA starts from assessment period 16th Nov to 15th December and first payment will be 22nd December.

This is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim.

If your UC includes any Transitional Protection this will erode with the additional LCWRA element. Whether you're any better off will depend on how much your Transitional Protection is.

hi poppy, thank you for you help I didn’t receive any extra money on the 22nd of dec and there show no extra money on January payment that’s due the 22nd, does the payment show on your statement?

    When was the decision made?

The LCWRA element will show on your statement. Does your UC include Transitional Protection?

I received a letter on my journal the 6th of January, and I’m unsure of transition protection

Then I wouldn't have expected it to have shown on your statement for last month because the decision wasn't made at that time. For this month, it's likely because there wasn't enough of time to include the element for this month.

It means they will owe you for 2 months LCWRA element. You need to wait for them to recalculate those statements and pay anything that's owed.

If your UC included Transitional Protection you would see that on your statement.
