edited January 20 in Universal Credit (UC)

I've migrated across from ESA and completed my claim on the 27th December-received a message on the 30th to say my housing element APA had been taken care of and that they would be in touch regarding my LCWRA -3 weeks to the day I've still not heard anything-is this normal to be waiting this long ?

It does take several weeks, this is usually done in time for first statement but not always.

I'm not aware they proactively contact people once the LCWRA has been added as standard practice.

One thing that will give you a clue is opening the section to apply for an advance, the amount available can indicate whether or not LCWRA has been confirmed. As the maximum available will match your first payment (the current estimate).

Thanks Kimmy87 ill definitely check the advance section on my journal -why i ask is that having left a message-on my journal-when my claim was completed that I'm migrating from ESA support group and that i should be awarded LCWRA automatically -I then received a message back regarding my LCWRA that they were awaiting details from my ESA details and would be back in touch when this was done

I don't know how much your rent is or other circumstances as to what elements you are expecting.

First subtract your monthly rent (if you know the weekly amount, multiply it by 52 then divide by 12).

Subtract the standard allowance for your claim (couple or single) plus any child elements

Is there anything left- LCWRA is £416.19.

Another way of checking is to look at your claimant commitments. If it says something like “agree to report changes and check your journal often” then this indicates that your claim has been updated.

Hi Kimmy my claim is made up of Standard UC -LCWRA -Housing £408 Per month -checked my work commitments as well and it's coming back as -JOBS not required to look or apply for jobs at this time and will be told if this changes-ACTIVITIES do not have any work related activities to do at this time and will be told if thus changes

Both are indicating that LCWRA has been added to your claim then 😊

Thanks Kimmy just checked work commitments as well and it just says log in regularly to check any to-do's-and to report any changes -so it would seem that LCWRA has been awarded -well that's a huge relief- so after 4 months of huge anxiety and stress it's actually gone very straightforward-I might actually start to sleep a whole lot better as well
