None of those benefits will be effected by your son working full time.

Thanks kimmy87

I've now seen your second post which wasn't visible when I replied.
Housing benefit isn't effected as you get Daily Living PIP.
Council Tax will probably change so you need to report to them that your son now works full time, they can then re calculate your award.

Ok thanks. Just on the phone to them now.

Hi kimmy87
I've just spoken to the council they said it won't effect my council tax but something just doesn't sit right.
Can I ask also when we move to universal credit my hubby will be put into the lcwra group we will have pip, will it effect our claim for uc because he works

Unfortunately we can't advise on individual cases for CT, as each Council runs a different scheme.
On your UC claim you will have a work allowance (because of hubbys LCWRA), this means the first £404 of his earnings will be ignored.
Anything over this amount will see a deduction applied to your UC, of 55p for every additional £1 earned.

Sorry kimmy87
I meant to say will effect the claim because my son works not hubby sorry

Sorry again when we move over to UC and hubby in lcwra we get pip and full housing and CA my son working will it effect our claim. Sorry if 8 didn't make myself clear my head is spinning

No, it will not because for UC he's not part of your household for benefits purposes. There will be no non dependant deductions for housing element of UC because you're claiming daily living PIP.
For council tax reduction, you can try using a benefits calculator to see what it comes out with. If you include all the correct information then it will give you some idea.

Your UC standard allowance & LCWRA element won't be effected, because living with a non dependant has no impact.
Your UC Housing Element won't be effected, because you get Daily Living PIP.
Your Carers Allowance for hubby won't be effected because non dependants have no impact on that.

You need to reach the rank of Contributor to unlock private messaging.
I personally don't answer PM's only forum posts 🙂

So i get daily living does that mean you can have someone live with you even if thier working ?
0 -
Yes because daily living PIP means no non dependant deductions from your housing benefit. If this person is a lodger then income from a lodger will affect Income Related ESA and housing benefit. Income from a lodger does not affect Universal Credit.
If your ESA includes the Severe disability Premium then this maybe affected if someone lives with you.

Hi me again.
I'm a couple my hubby gets ESA support group, pip enhanced on both, me pip standard care enhanced mobility and carers allowance. We also get enhanced premium will I lose that because I have a son working and classed as a non dependent.
