Hi, my name is jesus1! Hello everyone so my son has been my carer for 15 years...
Hello everyone so my son has been my carer for 15 years the esa are taking carers allowance from me recently my son was moved to universal credit and they are deducing carers allowance plus £30.00 extra so dwp are receiving 2 carers allowance payments I don't understand why they are doing this and when he phoned uc they said it was correct. We are so confused and technically they are also taking 30.00 extra from him Thanks in advance for any information

Your son’s carers allowance should not be being deducted from your ESA.
Has he been claiming carers allowance for all of those years? Or did your ESA used to include the Severe Disability Premium? Someone claiming carers would affect SDP and prevent you from claiming it.
What benefits was he claiming before he moved to UC? Carers allowance is deducted in full from his UC.

Hi they started deducting my money and my son has received it for 15 years he was on income support and child tax credits before Xmas they moved them onto uc and immediately they lost 500.00 a month they have 4 children then they started deducting carers allowance plus £ 30.00 extra so it seems dwp are taking it off me and then uc are deducting it from his uc so basically he is paying 30.00 a week to be my carer they phoned uc up but the person couldn't give them a straight answer it was like oh I don't know then nothing done or no follow up on it
