Hi

I have been approved LCWRA as of today 4/2/25 .

It has been awarded from 10/5/24 this is how long it has taken (no Surprise) and My entitlement starts from 28/8/24 that is the 3 month waiting period i know . Do i get back payment to the 28/8/24? and if yes is that on a separate payment please ?

My UC dates are from 28 December to 27 January 2025 and paid on the 6th each month . I take it i would start getting LCWRA payments from March as i have already had this statement.

Thank you in advance

What date exactly did you provide your first fit note?

Did you continue to provide fit notes right up until a decision was made, without any gaps?

Does your UC include Transitional Protection?

Started on Normal UC as i had to leave my job because of my illness . First fit note 10th May 2024 with no gaps up until awarded LCW on 21st Dec .Then asked for a Mandatory Reconsideration .Today got awarded LCWRA Starting from 28/8/24 .I know from May to August would be the 3 month relevant period .

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods, from the date the first Fit Note was handed in. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.

April/May: Partial AP, excluded from waiting period.

    May/June: AP 1

    June/July: AP 2

    July/August: AP 3

    August/September: Eligible for LCWRA element.

10th September: First LCWRA element paid

By my calculation you are owed 6 months LCWRA element.

Money owed will be calculated separately and this usually takes several weeks at least. You'll know this has been done when a letter is added to your Journal confirming the amount they owe you.

You'll then receive the money into your bank account several working days later.

Benefit backpayments are excluded from calculating your capital from 12 months.

Going forward yes LCWRA should be added to your March statement. If it isn't they haven't had time to process the decision and will owe you 7 months.
