Hi. I'm not sure if I'm good at explaining but I'll give it a go.
My partner has been off sick for over 2 years. He has been waiting for an assessment for LCWRA for over 2 years now but whenever he asks when it will be likely that he will get an appointment for this assessment he is told to ring Optima (?). We have rang them and all they say is that there's a backlog and they can't offer him an appointment yet and that they will contact him as soon as one becomes available. But after 2 years they still can't even offer him an appointment?? Really?? Is this normal? And does anyone know if there is a complaints procedure please? Any advice would be welcome . Thankyou in advance.

Two years is a very long time to be waiting for an appointment. I've known waits of a year but nothing longer.
I'm not aware of an agency called Optima
Yes the health assessment agency will have a complaints process, you should definitely make a formal complaint.
You could also feedback to the DWP, although they themselves are waiting alongside you for the assessment report to make a decision, they are the ones that contract the agencies and should know about such poor performance.
Contacting your MP might be an idea also.
