Sen child school placement

Hi I'm hoping someone can give me advice please regarding my sons application for high school and a matter which has arisen which I'm not sure is even legal, feeling confused and upset, if this is anyone's area of expertise, he has an EHCP in place is currently on a partial timetable and my belief is mainstream school are not meeting his needs. Tia for any help offered.

It’s understandable why you feel confused and upset, sorting out the right school to meet your childs need is a stressful situation.
Bluebell21 has linked to IPSEA above who are the legal experts in SEN education so it is definitely worth contacting them especially if you believe that something has happened that is not legal. There is also some legal advice around education on this website.
Have you shared your concerns to the current school about mainstream not being able to meet his needs?
If you have a specific school in mind that you would like your son to go to you can request for it to be named on the EHCP during the annual review. Alternatively, if you are not going to have your annual review for a while and you believe you are up against it with time, you can request an early EHCP review.
If you haven’t already, SENDIASS may also be worth reaching out to.
They are education specialists for your local area who may be able to are able to offer more specific information and advice as they should know the schools in your area.
