Care element UC

Hi I have been advised by autism services to apply for carers and care elements on our Uc claim for our children. I am not sure how this works if any one has any information that could help us.
it’s a joint UC claim, with 2 children who both get the disabled element. My son is the n high care/high mobility rate DLA, my daughter is on Middle care/low mobility rate DLA, I am currently on PIP and LCWRA and just standard element for my partner what is the best way to do this and can you still claim care allowance for our daughters claim who is middle rate.
Thank you for reading

Carers Allowance is deducted in full from UC, so there is no financial gain to claiming.
As you get LCWRA you are unable to claim Carers Element (the same person cannot get both).
If your partner doesn't get LCWRA for himself, or CE for you then he can claim Carers Element for one child.
I don't think the same person can claim for caring for two eligible people.

No, the same person can’t claim for 2 different people.

Thank you for your reply, so does my partner have to call carers allowance to claim for our son then inform UC?
Also, our daughter wouldn’t be entitled to a care component either without a claim to carers allowance?
Sorry if I’m not understanding
Thank you ☺️0 -
Your partner does not need to claim carers allowance to be entitled to carers element of UC. Claiming carers allowance would not make you financially better off because it’s deducted in full from your UC.
For your partner to claim carers element they need to log into their journal and report a change. Then click caring for someone and report it through there.
Your daughter can’t claim carers allowance or carers element if she’s a child. Her care part of DLA will not be affected because no one claims carers allowance for looking after her.

ok I will get him to report this through the journal!
I mean can there be an element awarded for her on our journal

Your UC should include 1 higher disabled child element, 1 lower disabled child element, 1 LCWRA element and 1 carers element, once your partner claims that. All those elements would make up your maximum UC entitlement. You will not be entitled to 2 carers elements because of the LCWRA element.
