Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month Is Here!

Network CP talks a lot about Cerebral Palsy (CP)—it’s our mission, after all! But this month holds special significance. CP Awareness Month highlights the prevalence of CP. With 17 million people worldwide living with the condition. That’s a big community!

Throughout March, we are raising awareness by hosting weekly events in its honor. These events will cover: Epilepsy and CP, CP and neurodiversity, and CP and International Women’s Day. To attend, please register on our Network CP page.

For me, Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month is all about learning. My role as a CP Specialist means I’m expected to have expertise. But, there is always more to discover. CP is incredibly diverse. Although I have lived experience with CP, I do not encompass everyone’s perspective. This month, my focus is on listening attentively; participating in all Network CP events to expand my understanding. I do not believe I will ever ‘know it all, .But, maintaining a continuous learning mindset is essential in my job.

Though our experiences with CP may differ, our fight for visibility is united.
