UC And Non-Dependent Contributions

Apologies if this post is long or convoluted, I just want to make sure I’m doing things right.
Basically my wife is disabled and we claim UC with LCWRA. She also gets PIP.
I get carers allowance which is paid separately to the UC.
We have 4 children and 2 of them are non-dependent who work (although my older son is autistic).
Both my non dependent children pay housekeeping of £300 a month (our rent is £2350) and we need the money from them.
I have never mentioned this to UC as I’m under the impression that as my wife is claiming high care and high mobility PIP the non-dependent contributions aren’t taken in to account.
The reason I’m asking this is my son who is Autistic has just had an £11000 8 year back payment as his claim contained an error on PIP’s side.
The money is in my bank account as I am his official representative and made the claim for him.
He will be given the money in increments over time but for now it will stay in my account.
My son is not on my UC claim, just that the money is in my account.
I have told UC via my journal and I’m expecting that I will be audited/reviewed because of it.
I just want to make sure that I’ve done everything right regarding the non-dependent contributions etc…
The only other things that have gone in my account are a couple of PayPal payments where my wife has sold all her old vintage dolls/dolls clothes. Nothing major
Thank you all.

Your understanding isn't quite correct, your wife's PIP means no non dependant deductions from any Housing Element you receive.
If you are ever selected for a financial review they may ask to see PayPal statements.
Otherwise the money you receive from non dependants isn't counted as income for UC.
If you let it build up to over £6k capital they probably would be interested.

Thank you very much for your reply.
I’m still slightly confused.
The PayPal thing aside. It’s literally only a few pound here and there so I’m not worried. But I’m more concerned about the non-dependent contributions. You say it’s only no deductions from housing.
Can they deduct it from any other element of UC?
It will never reach £6k as it’s used for rent top up and food/bills etc…0 -
Non dependant deductions would only apply to Housing Element. Your claim is exempt due to wife's PIP.
