Hello from new member DogMama

Hello all, i just found this site today and have been reading posts, which have helped me feel less alone and a bit less scared. You all sound so sensible and so kind to each other.
I'm a 57 year old woman with medication redistent schizo-effective disorder, cptsd and bpd, also epilepsy, pulmonary fibrosis and glaucoma. On waiting list for autism testing as GP and Psychiatrist think i have that too. I'm a part time carer for my elderly Mum (who has severe Copd, arthritis, anxiety disorder and severe cognitive deficit.)
I live with a beautiful labradoodle x lurcher and today three of his doggy friends visited for a play date, so we had the full pack.😊🐺 Being surrounded by dogs makes me feel safer.
I don't talk to anyone about how bad things feel, i don't get much support from cmht as they are so busy, just a phone call ocasionally to make sure i haven't 'taken the exit'. They've said i can't have therapy until the psychosis is controlled, but it never is, so they've sort of washed their hands of me. I don't really have friends, and i feel too ashamed to talk about things, so just reading all your posts made me feel like i wasn't actually alone.
I'll stop talking now, thanks for being here.

I am fairly new to this too. I agree it is so helpful to not feel alone. So many people struggling. I am having a bad day today but Scope is a lifeline. Lack of friends is an issue for me too.

Hello Enduring Rogue, thanks for replying. This feels to me like a safe way to have connections without the risks. Had so much bullying from others, especially if they find out about my MH, so isolation is safer.
Very sorry you are having a bad day, i hope tmw will be more bearable.

Please know you are not alone, I only have my psychiatrist and a phone line to mental health services. They can't do anymore for me either, I have no real friends and spend most of my time alone although I live with my mum

Hi Sheppy,
thank you for your welcome message. I was very scared when they first said no more treatment except meds....living with an active psychotic illness without support felt overwhelming, but I've found I've just shut down more socially and emotionally. Not sure how ideal that is but it works for me atm.
