What is the CP Football League and how can you get involved?
The National CP League is the only Cerebral Palsy specific sanctioned league for adults aged 16+ and is an England Football Accredited league. The CP League offers teams the opportunity to play fixtures throughout the season and also participate in the CP Cup competition. The CP League provides the competition pathway to the FA Disability Cup which is held in June at the prestigious St Georges Park, home to all England teams.
The league has mixed gender dispensation, meaning male and female players can play together.
In the 2022-23 season, the league created a Development League, where CP teams come together to play more informal friendly games with an emphasis around participation and fun. The development games are flexi-format to support teams with varying numbers of players and results are not recorded. For the 2024-25 season, the Development League is looking for more teams to continue to grow further.
The CP League is run by a committee who are keen to recruit volunteers to help develop opportunities and run the league.
If you would like more information and to be involved, whether it is a team to join the league or you want to be part of the committee, please contact Richard Richard.Todd@cpsport.org
