Tbh becky I think if someone wins tribunal they MIGHT be treated as an ongoing claimant.

But anything is possible, and I don't trust them.

Yes the whole system is open to abuse, and the pressure will be on the assessors to find vulnerable people fit for work to meet targets of reducing benefits .

Can anyone give any indication on when these will happen? As in, how long it might take, in the realm of years or months? I know some may not be passed etc.

So could someone tell me what this means for existing members on LCWRA & UC. I'm due a re-assessment soon for LCWRA, and worried is an understatement.

I can't remember about my initial assessment, but my reassessment (which just went through) I got 4 points in 3 different bits for daily living.

It looks like they're trying to cut costs by cutting off people who score lower - I guess that's what she meant by focusing help for people who are more severely disabled?
At the end of the day the whole purpose of the paper is to make cuts and they need to sell it to the electorate and their own party.

    Hi 👋,

Can someone from scope please explain the new pip points please as there seems to some confusion, at least I’m confused. I know you need to score 4 points in one question but is it then an additional 4 making 8 for lower. And 4 points plus 8 equal 12 for higher ?

From what I understand if you score 4 or more points in any one catagory under the new PIP reform you'll still get PIP. Anyone who scores under 4 in any catagory will loose their daily living PIP under the proposed reforms.

that 4 point policy is quite frankly cruel.

one moment she was talking about everyone is different, then a cookie cutter "idea"

like this. 4 consultants who look after various aspects of my care all wrote letters to explain

how this condition works, even after all the updated letters the person said we had provided enough evidence and I had a 10 year award, when Dad checked the letter on the points for cooking they referenced a letter 8 years earlier, at the time my arm was still there!!!!

So it shows how these people zone out, that's why I urge people talk to consultants when you see them next, one thing I learned long time ago Letters stating

"this patient suffers from" "this patient uses a wheelchair" quite frankly are toilet paper.

they need to explain exactly how it affects you so they have medical evidence what you are saying is backed up by the medical professionals.

Also those tiny boxes there is no way in hell you can explain what they want to know

Always put some detail in there that is based on the question but also add a letter that corresponds to the question informing them in the same box please look at enclosed letter for greater detail.

they say no photos, No send photos if it explains more about an issue. One reason they dont want photos they are hard to scan.. well if they want to know everything including about personal care they can see the reasons why help is needed, Not been rebuked once about it because we made it clear the photos are graphic but needed.

I cannot stress this enough to people, It boils my wee when GP charge patients X amount of money for a letter that's little more than a note. We all know they are bogged down but they also charge some very high prices for very low quality letters, Its not about lies its about proof what you are talking about is true and it does help them.

Its going to take me far too long to read all of that information. Inability to take in information and brain fog are 2 of my symptoms. How are we supposed to take in all of that information and respond.

There was probably some maths done on what was needed to reach targeted amount of savings, which descriptors cause the most problems in tribunals etc. Daily living also pays more support than mobility.
Review will work as normal but if the review is after they change the requirements, you will then need at least one 4 point descriptor in daily living (as well as existing requirements) to be awarded daily living.

Hi, just joined up here, the thing about the PIP minimum 4 point eligibility is that, that is down to the decision makers at DWP, so if you already have 4 for one activity, for now nothing will happen, but in a few years when it all starts to change over and reviews are due, I'm expecting any 4's we have now will be demoted to 3*s in order to omit us from the daily living component saving the GOV the reform money they have promised and shafting the genuine disabled people by demoting their rightful point system. Thats how I see it as I'm wary of anything like this.

As long as you have one 4, then all the other points will add up aswell after to give the correct award.

My daughter currently has 3, 4's and is on LCWRA aswell due to complex mental and physical health long term disabilities. Its worrying non the less having this '4' points minimum to even start with for PIP.

    Opppse the consultation strongly.

Check the green paper as there are parts in there that the GOV is not even going to consult on. Which is fundamentally wrong.

Also the minimum age they are proposing for new LCWRA claimant's in a few years is 22.
