You can understand it. When it comes to opposing welfare, the competition to standout is incredibly fierce within the Conservative party. Whatley is working jolly hard to keep her position and be the best at this cruel sport.

as long as you still get the 4 points on at least one descriptor when your claim is reviewed, you’ll be fine.

Thanks prinko, if the new benefit/time limited aspect of it is for any new claimants, then will the old cb Esa people just stay on it and not be moved to uc, and not merged with jsa either? With regards to the indefinite dla people, it sounds like they will make it very difficult to get pip when transitioning over or people will lose out one way or another.

I don’t have any evidence to back this up, it’s just my own thoughts, but I don’t think the current PIP forms will be used once the system changes. New forms will likely be introduced with different questions and rules for deciding eligibility.
Points from the old PIP system won’t count, and you’ll need to meet the new criteria to receive PIP. However, I imagine everyone will keep their current award until they are reassessed. If the changes go ahead, they will affect new claimants first, and when current claimants PIP awards are up for renewal, they will be assessed under the new rules.

A bit like Badenoch!

Finally, Someone else making this point.
Mark my words, lots of us will be put in this position .
The pressure will be on assessors to find as many as possible 'fit for work'.
Then It's an appeal or tribunal process, and treated as a 'NEW CLAIMANT'.
Believe me they will save a lot by doing this, just think, any claimants that gets £50 a week deducted will be worse off by £200 A MONTH !!!!!
IT'S DISGRACEFUL.
EVEN STEVIE WONDER AND RAY CHARLES CAN SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE.
I should be put into the 'severe' category and not even reassessed but unfortunately I have been on the receiving end of an assessors lies before.........
To the point where the dr and judge at my tribunal refused to do the tribunal, they awarded me support group , apologised to me and made an official complaint about the assessor, because it was made obvious that due to my disabilities and multiple auto immune diseases that this shouldn't have happened.
It was also a waste of time and public money.
Many of us have been through these experiences...and I'm sorry to sound negative, but we will see much more of this.
The upside to all this is that these plans will backfire, and the cost in tribunals will offset any savings.
So well done kendall, 'thieves and harmer'. (Sarcasm).

It is unclear but I think it's for new claimants with disabilities the DWP consider "temporary and short-term".
53. Unemployment insurance would be a new non-means tested entitlement for people who have contributed into the system. It would be created by replacing contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) with a new single entitlement, paid at the current ESA rate (currently £138pw) and will be time-limited. This would provide stronger income protection during periods of unemployment for those with a recent work record, while revitalising the ‘something-for-something’ contributory principle in the working-age system. People claiming this would be expected to actively seek work, with easements for those with work-limiting health conditions.
54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC, depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA, by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC
We need clarification from @poppy123456 or another Scope expert.

Hopefully You will get the qualifying points that are needed.

Posted this on LBC.
Its such a shame they did cover a lot of the negatives, as is the case of these statements once you dig deeper things get more complex, Kendall has given an interview to Beth Rigby on Sky
not ruling out future cuts, I know a lot of you are very worried the only thing I can say from past green papers, this will undergo changes at the committee stage without question.
An update what I posted about earlier in regards to the ESA/UC migration issue.
the specialist told my brother they are currently dealing with 20,000 "issues" in regards to the migration over from ESA/UC, So they granted an extension there and then simply owing to the backlog.
I am a pretty strong person but even I am struggling, I beg anyone who really is also
talk, and keep talking. There's one thing about this current lot when pressure reaches a certain point they buckle. Its not happened over #brexit yet but If they keep cutting things hoping it gives her miracle growth it just wont happen.

Who was PM when the pandemic hit? then bemused faces why the UK is hammered?
The UN has warned the UK over and over about its treatment of Disabled people they issues a report in the last month asking Labour to reverse the Tory Policies.Long covid has seen consultants/GP's/Nurses rely on the Welfare state,
Streeting can shout across the chamber like a fish wife, Maybe he could announce a task force to look into long covid because have the problem the NHS would admit it owing to the prospect of liability.
Despite what the adverts say, Blood, Vomit, poo do NOT come out at 30C , its 2hr 20 bed and bath resulting in 460 ppm energy bills, but MP's are clueless they are paid on expenses.Like everything the devil is in the detail, One thing you forgot ESA was brought in by BrownDLA/PIP by the condems it was supposed to save 10 billion it actually saved 0.01 billion.
There was a story floating around last Summer PIP would become the gateway to UC etc this was long before Trump was Elected and the so called "Global events" mark this up to another WFP policy they had but knew if mentioned in the GE it would cause huge problems.,
They had months to say the PIP voucher idea would never happen they left many deeply worried ontop of very hard lives already. Anyone who thinks being Disabled and living the life of riley I truly hope you never have to experience what life is really like. No 6000 inch plasma TV, No i-phone.the only treat is twinning's tea.
IMHO what we've seen today is Labour doing exactly what saw the libdems wiped out at the next Election, Starmer stood on a platform of making those with the broadest should pay more when the media kept attacking with non stop stories he buckled and went for the weakest.Reeves has no credibility, why? the growth they need WONT HAPPEN until she sorts out the shambles left by #Brexit even a simple alignment to the EU would produce Growth of 2.2 % GDP Its coming back to the Fact Starmer can only go after people weaker and we all know what that is.

Hi Holly and everyone, just to let you all know, I've written a summary of everything Kendall said in her speech this afternoon, in a new thread in this category…

I know the Tories had wanted to axe NHS England but were scared stiff.
It was all the talk when Truss took over, they know its a total waste of time we had a situation 5 managers were all doing the same thing getting paid over 200k a year and all they managed to do was go around various depts demanding more savings, its the core reason
my long term consultant quit the NHS he was talking about it and the reasons why he was going. That's exactly what he told me when they mention duplication it really is Manager x 5 upwards.

I believe it’s minimum 12 points for enhanced rate, but I may be wrong. I’m on enhanced care and got 17 points.
did they not tell you yet which rate you are getting?0 -
I will be stunned if it will be ready by then,
they are already causing hell with the speeding up of ESA/UC Migration
Its the committee stage delays things, UC itself was delayed for years and cost billions
Part of this will be the updated software/training (LOL) new forms.
the pushback will be hard on those younger people in effect being punished for being sick/disabled. This condition with me triggered at 11 years old.
Then of course taking them to court, but also the impact this will have on Elections
If Labour start losing badly and heavy, Starmer buckles he nearly quit when they lost that By Election and he had only been leader less than 15 months.

I currently have four points in one area, (though I am currently waiting for dwp decision following assessment/review). I think I heard or read that 'they'may change the descriptors and so make it harder to achieve the 4 points. Does anyone know of any changes to descriptors?
1 -
Can they legally do this? Ie. treat you as a new claimant if you have to go to tribunal over a decision. Because you're right this would be huge if they do it, but I wonder if they could legally do it, because it's so open to abuse like this.
For example on my WCA, I was found fit for work, lost my MR, and it was only when I filed for tribunal they claimed a 3rd health professional had looked at my case and conceded I should be LCWRA.
In PIP I actually went to tribunal, and won, scoring something like 30 points, after they scored me 0 points. It would be beyond scandalous for them to be able to treat people who go to tribunal as new claimants, especially as I have no faith they won't score me 0 points again on reassessment.

I get enhanced but I’m talking about the new points . No one seems sure of how many you’ll need .

Hi. I found this in the green paper - People with the most severe disabilities or with health conditions that will never improve will never be reassessed.
I am on ESA (CB) and have been disabled and a wheelchair user since birth. Does anyone know if this means i won't be re-assessed? Thanks
