Hi, my name is AnnaPaw! how likely I will be awarded ill health retirement ?

good evening everyone,
I wonder if anyone can advice me on my current situation;
I have worked for HMRC just over 35 years, I have been suffering from depression since 2013. Generally, I have had a few spells of bad times and were off for for a few months. In 2020 I had a covid and have been off work for nearly a two years with post covid long term symptoms; like breathlessness, chest pains, headaches and brain fog and my depression has gone downhill.
Due to this brain fog is enabling me to do my everyday work duties, I just cnót used all the systems like I used to just cannot remember how to do my job.
my manger suggested that I apply for ill health retirement which I did
My questions is how likely I will be awarded that ? I am 57 years old
Anyone in similar situation and can advise me if I have chance to get it ? And if not what is the next move from the employer it’s very likely that they will dismiss me due to my incapability to do my work
What can I expect as next from HMRC ?
Thank you for all your help
