It doesn't seem like New Style ESA because that's currently £276.40 a fortnight.

One payment was probably correct (known as the run on payment), this doesn't impact your UC payment.

The second payment most likely was an error this does happen, and will be deducted a little at a time from your UC.

I’ve been unfit for work for about 28 years think the benefit was called incapacity benefit when first put on this we claim as a couple the thing that makes me think that it new esa is maigrated on the 7 march and then got a letter on the 15 march saying I would be getting 182 a week esa from 12 April

When Incapacity Benefit changed to ESA, your award would have been CB ESA with an IR top up if applicable.

I've heard anecdotally that the increased number of migration letters has subsequently strained ESA even more.

I've increasingly seen people's IR not stopped in good time and delays in swapping people over to New Style.

You should receive correspondence about New Style ESA soon, and on your first UC statement they should start deduction of the overpaid IR ESA.

If you went from Incapacity Benefit to ESA, then you'd now go to UC & New Style ESA.

As advised New Style ESA is £276.40 a fortnight so it does look like there has been an overpayment.
