ESA to UC migration no letter but change of circumstances

hi.
I’ve had to move to UC without a migration letter. I have been in receipt of SDP since August 2016. I had to move to UC from ESA as I moved boroughs due to needing a ground floor property as I have terminal secondary lung cancer and have the SR1 form less than 12 months to live. . I am on full pip both elements.
When I claimed UC on 5 the March 25 the woman helping me fill the form out st tge UC office stated that I will get transitional protection and won’t loose any of my £960 a month ESA.
on the 7 th of April I received my first payment advice from UC and the protection is not on it and I am £160 worse off.
when contacting UC they say because I didn’t have a migration letter I’m not entitled to protection and I’m only entitled to standard allowance and LCWA. I’ve searched the internet and contacted CAB who all say I’m entitled to the protection.
can anyone shed some light on this as it’s stress I really don’t need as I go through my illness.

Hi,
It used to be the case that migrating without a managed migration letter would stop Transitional Protection altogether.
However, they do now offer a fixed rate of TP specifically for people who had SDP. This won't necessarily mean that you get the same as you did before, but does mean you should be entitled to some extra money. Perhaps add a link to this website in your UC journal for the staff to see?

thank you overly anxious. I’ve copied and pasted it onto my journal. I said all this to the TP agent I spoke to and all she kept on saying was I’m not entitled as I didn’t migrate with the letter. She didn’t want to hear anything I had to say. I even read out what cab and the you gov website said but she was adamant she was right.
it’s absolutely disgusting how I was treated .1 -
