Could you tell me what the phonecall interview for u.c. from ESA goes like?

I'm stressed and anxious about the telephone appointment I have coming up and would appreciate any insight at all anyone can offer me. I am worried that just by talking to me they won't assess me taking into account my health etc. thankyou!!🥺

Heya there @verityc please try not to worry too much about the telephone appointment. Many people go through them daily with no problems at all. I've not had one myself, but I'm sure one of the community will be able to share their stories soon. 😊

Hi,
If you're moving from ESA to UC you should not have any sort of medical assessment.
The phone appointment is just to confirm your identity and accept the claimant commitments.

Ok thanks. Just looked on that to do list. As I have a telephone appointment it states that as I didnt give enough evidence. I asked for a phone one cos of my anxiety fatigue and pain. What do they mean? Also do they ask for bank statements at the interview?do I have to give the evidence the same day? Thankyou so much!

You're welcome.
They don't have enough evidence to confirm your identity online. This usually means that you don't have a valid passport.
So they will ask you unique questions over the phone to confirm ID instead, things that only you will know the answer to. Generally things to do with benefits or bank accounts or education/work.
If you have under £6000 they won't usually ask for bank statements at all.
If you do need to provide bank statements or any other paperwork, they will ask for that separately and give you a few days to get that sorted.

Ps I do have a valid passport

For people who do have a valid passport, you also need a second form of ID for online verification. It should show on your journal or to do list if you have completed the ID verification.
They may also need more evidence of housing costs if you rent privately.
That's all the evidence that I can think of for the migration.
