I have had an undiagnosed set of symptoms for the last six years (the speech, the weakness, and unconsciousness have started happening over the last two months. I have had an MRI, EEG, CT scans (the last one two weeks ago), complete blood count, and a lumbar puncture - all of which have been normal. I have been told by an ED doctor that there is no test known to medicine that will be able to diagnose my condition.

Symptoms are:

  • My speech will start to slur, and then it will become gobbledegook (make no sense whatsoever). Sometimes this is all that will happen.
  • Mostly, a few minutes later, my limbs become very weak and I cannot stand up properly. (I usually have time to get to a chair.)
  • Sometimes, a few minutes following this, I may become unconscious (or have a black-out) for (mostly) a brief period (up to 5 minutes).
  • When I surface, I give a loud gasp, which can be startling.
  • The non-speech may continue for some time.
  • When I come out of the flub, it is instantaneous, and I am immediately back on deck and all is well.

So sorry you have to go though this, and must be incredibly frustrating not to have an understanding of what's happening. I do wish you well. And hope you eventually get some closure in the future x
