just been diagnosed with Diverticulitis

Hi, I've just been diagnosed with Diverticulitis. The past week has been hellish in terms of how often I've needed to go to the toilet - especially during the night. It's really difficult to get comfortable and sleep with pain, cramping and a burning anus. I've been prescribed antibiotics but my GP said to leave starting them for about 3 days to see if there was any improvement first. There has been a very modest improvement but, normally I feel better in the mornings, but not today! Been on a liquid diet for 2 days now. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @GeorgieB Welcome to the Community. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum. Any questions just ask.
It can take some time to adjust to a new diagnosis. Perhaps keep a food diary so you are able to see if any food affects you more than others.

Take care.
