My daughter turning 18 in August and she's been getting PIP since March

Hello and hope everyone are well.
My daughter will be turning 18 in August and she's going to be starting full time university in January 2026.
She's been getting PIP since March and I have informed UC twice because the first time I informed them, they did not add on the child disability element on my award. I was told to make changes on my UC account to which I did and it was verified. Due to not adding the element, I contacted them and asked why I didn't receive this? They said to make changes on my account and I told them I have and it was already verified, and I was told to do it again. I'm sure they miss this payment out again on my next payment (June). Also, will this be backdated to when she put in her form?
The other help I like to ask is that she'll be starting full time university in January, she turns 18 in August (2025) and the university has already placed her on a health plan to support her. My question is, when does the child element stop and would she be able to claim UC for herself due to a disability when I stop getting the children element on UC? She'll be staying at home and have already been accepted for student finance.
I appreciate any information/assistant.
Thank you ☺️

Hi @yas0178 a
Your daughter should have the child disability element added to your Universal Credit from when she started receiving PIP but if this missed, you can request it to be backdated.
The child element of UC will likely stop in August 2025 when she turns 18 as she can apply for UC in her own name. However as a full-time university student she’ll only be eligible for UC if she receives PIP and has been assessed as having limited capability for work before starting her course.
Student finance won’t affect her PIP but it may impact any means-tested benefits like UC😊1 -
Thank you very much for your help ☺️
