Do you identify as Disabled? Are you interested in talking to researchers from the University of Bath about your daily life during a heatwave?

What is the study about?

We’re looking to interview people who identify as Disabled about how extremely hot weather affects their daily lives, and better understand how we can make UK climate change planning more inclusive in the future.

What would you have to do?

Take part in an interview this summer with a researcher and answer questions about how hot weather affects you. You don’t have to have any particular knowledge or experience to take part, and we’re interested in everyone’s views. The interview would take place between now and September, ideally after a heatwave, and can be completed in-person, online or via email.

If you or someone you support would like to find out more, you can find more information in the study flyer and information sheet, or email the researcher Hollye Kirkcaldy – hk927@bath.ac.uk. An EasyRead version of the information sheet is available on request.

I'm very grateful to anyone who takes the time to read and respond, and please be assured there is no obligation to participate even if you ask for more details.

I don't cope in a heatwave! Thank you both.

Hollye, I have just registered my interest in your study and mentioned that I can't manage video calls but I've had another thought - my neighbour could set up the screening call for me.

I don't cope in a heatwave. It's already too hot for me by this point in the year. (25c+ in my flat 24/7). I can't manage any sort of interview though. I do hope others will be able to provide similar information as I would have done.
