If your waiting for LCWRA to be applied to UC Migration claim from ESA SG

22 MAY 2025, 03:44 PM
We are coming across a few cases where the client has managed migrated from ESA to UC and the LCWRA element is missing in the first AP and there is no TE as a result. This seems to be recent; previously clients who have migrated have had the LCWRA element correctly added from the start.
Not sure if this to do with the huge increase in migration notices possibly causing delays in getting information from ESA to UC. Wondering if anyone else is seeing this?

‘I’ve had a few cl’s this week who have moved from cbESA to UC before their deadlines and have been told they need to wait for the LCWRA to be awarded as they are very busy and could take up to 3 months and then be backdated’.

I am dealing with this very problem at the moment. Migrated to universal credit from ESA support group. They have moved me to new style ESA which I'm getting every 2 weeks but my current universal credit payment does not include the LCWRA which it should do, I rang them up and they told me it's gone to a decision maker and i could be waiting a couple months

I think it's a joke. I haven't done anything wrong it's down to them, I can accept that after all mistakes are made but what I find unacceptable is them taking months to correct their mistakes leaving people out of pocket. So much for all the talk about how people on managed migration are going to be treated fairly with nobody loosing out on money. The mad thing is my universal credit statement actually says I'm not entitled to transitional protection as I'm not getting less now than I was before but clearly I am. They have awarded me £1009 which is less than before, then they have deducted new style ESA and sent the rest to my landlord leaving me with £0 plus a £200 shortfall in rent to make up, then there are bills etc, a few more weeks of this and I'm not going to be in a good position, it really is a bit of a joke, they should have a better attitude when it comes to sorting out their mistakes

I thought this was near automated now as long as tick the yes box for if you have existing award?

The ESA run on letter says it was an automated decision.
LCWRA though appears to be a manual thing, hence the delays.
Apparently, they did something about fixing erroneous fit note requests late 2024.
Though there’s a lot of migration speculation and if ask three Q. can get three different replies!1 -
I've done that fluffycat. CAB have said there isn't much they can do to help once it has gone to a decision maker, they said they have got someone who can give them a sort of 'hurry up' nudge which he said they would do for me he took my phone number and email said someone would be in touch but nothing so far from them, journal still the same absolutely nothing, I'm reluctant to leave any more messages on the journal as they just don't answer
