Hi, I’ve had limited capabilities for 7 years but I’m desperate to go back to work. But I’m worried my abilities and my psychological wellbeing are gong to impact me as my confidence is very low. My ambitions and desires are there. I don’t know what to do.

Hi @galb72 and a warm welcome to the community!

It may be helpful to start with you can start with permitted work to ease back in while keeping benefits.

Have you spoke to your GP or a mental health charity (like Mind) for support with low confidence and wellbeing in the past? If not, it may be useful to have a chat with them to see if they can refer you for any additional support as your transition back into work

There is also access to work which sounds like something you would be entitled to apply for based on what you have have described

Volunteering may also be a good stepping stone into work as you can usually do something around your hobbies/interests and it is low pressure and helps you adjust back into a work routine at your own pace 😊
