Driving & Physically Disabled

Hi, I was hoping to find some advice on accessing driving while disabled.
I'm looking for a driving school to learn to drive in Preston area, with possible assistance with learning devices or just understanding.
I have Arthritis across my whole body so my mobility is limited and have weakness and pain in my hands & legs, I'm really hoping to get a low impact job but will likely need to travel.
Does anyone have any advice on this or what has helped you learn to drive?
I'm brand new to driving so I'm not sure of the process! Thank you !

Hi! First you should check if you can turn the steering wheel reliably even when there is pain. If you have problems with this, then for safety reasons you should not drive the car.

@MagpieBlue425 hello sorry to jump in post , I haven't been able to drive with my twisted finger joints in my hands which are too painful to do anything much really I have often wondered what happens when you have a driving licence but can no longer grip the wheel, I've had my licence for over 25 years and this current onset of my disability with hands and fingers has grudually been this way I'd say last three years I still have my DL although I haven't drove for a while I don't like driving much anyways, I'd have thought if your new to driving there should be adaptations available I'm sure somebody with more experience will jump in too hope that helps…..
