    hi I hope you can help my partner is disabled one were on us with carers / LCWRA elements also smi to help with mortgage , my partner is due his state pension in August ( I’m 58 ) I’m his full time carer but I’m not sure if we will lose all our c and have to live on his state pension we have no savings and I’m extremely anxious.? Any advice please , thanks

    Hi,

    You won't lose all of your UC.

    UC continues as a 'Mixed Age' claim until you both reach state pension age.

    You shouldn't lose any of the UC elements because you got them while you were both still under pension age. (Somewhere like Age UK should be able to confirm this as well).

    There will be a deduction from UC because pension income is treated as earnings. But you shouldn't be worse off overall.

    When you both reach pension age, then you can apply for Pension Credit instead.
