I'm 47 with a lumbar spine injury.

I'm very worried about what will happen with my benefits as I am unable to work.

I have no confidence in the system after my PIP was dropped to standard 6 years ago.

The thought of a tribunal is anxiety inducing to the point of just settling with what they gave me.

Does anyone else feel like that?

Hey @RieRie and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear about your PIP being reduced, but as someone who's been through tribunals a few times now, I can say they're totally worth it and are very very different to the assessments.

Hi, I had a tribunal years ago and, it has to be 1 of the worst experiences of my life. I was so intimidated and fumbled over everything. In the end they didnt believe a word I said. It was so upsetting.

@Albus_Scope how are tribunals set up now? Anything you could tell me would be a great help.

I've not had a tribunal in a few years now, but the last one was face to face and was very easy going and the panel all seemed to actually listen to me, which was a refreshing change! I went in armed with a load of bullet points, for important things, as I knew I'd get anxious and forget everything. 😆 So please try not to worry too much, I know you had a bad experience last time, but I honestly think that was just a bit of bad luck, most are totally fine.

I have tried tribunals many times, but have been very unsuccessful.
