Hiya

Hope all are well
My venting moment
I’ve been quiet. I’ve followed the rules. I’ve written emails, filled out SEN diaries, attended meetings, and trusted the process.
But nothing changes.
My daughter is a neurodivergent teenager who needs support. Real support. Not words. Not promises. She needs people who understand her, not just try to control her.
Instead, we’ve been met with silence, confusion, and professionals who speak about her, not to her. Strangers have shown up to meetings without warning. Decisions are made without my input. The people in charge act like her legal support plan doesn’t matter.
But it does matter — because her wellbeing is on the line.
I’ve had to escalate everything now. Ask for a full review. Demand accountability. Because my daughter is not coping. And no one listened when I warned them.
Until she hit crisis.
This Is What Failing a Child Looks Like:
• A teenager in distress, daily.
• A parent asking for help, over and over.
• A system that stays quiet until it explodes.
This isn’t about getting “special treatment.” It’s about basic rights. My child deserves to feel safe and supported — not punished for being different.
To Other Parents:
If you're in this too, you're not alone. You're not wrong. You're not “too much.” The system just isn’t built for kids like ours.
To the People in Charge:
Start listening. Start involving parents. Start meeting legal obligations before it’s too late.
Because we’re done begging. We’re done waiting. And we won’t be quiet anymore.

A warm welcome to the community from me @maddiehol 😊
Thank you for sharing this.
I'm so sorry you and your daughter have been treated like that. It’s heartbreaking how often parents are pushed to the edge before anyone listens. You’ve done everything you’re supposed to do and it’s so wrong that it’s taken a crisis for people to finally pay attention. How are you and your daughter doing at the moment?
