The relief at finally accepting that a wheelchair could be such an enormous help was nothing compared to the luxury of a power chair. No struggling , simply gliding;a marvellous improvement. But hidden problems soon come to light. Does every power chair include a temperamental steering system ? Is each one given the power of independent thought?
Small bungalows, narrow doorways, awkward turning angles result in damage. Scratched paintwork , chunks out of doorframes but who believes the driver wasn’t at fault ? , straight reverse , straight forward no problem ( usually). But. .. Twists and turns become major battles when sensible steering is defeated by the demon steering system. There must be ,somewhere, somebody with the knowledge to design a chair with a controlled steering mechanism Is there. ??0 -
Lovely to have you all here 😄
