UC Claim Commitment for Carer's
Good Afternoon all. I'm a FT carer for my disabled partner. My partner is receipt of PIP [enhanced for both components], and I'm in receipt of CA. We've just successfully navigated the managed migration process from ESA to UC. I believe the final step in this transition is a claims commitment for us both. My question is specifically about my carers' role. I'm unsure of what sort of information they will require from me when I commit to the terms of my UC claim. I have searched and have come across conflicting information and advice. Will I be asked about what level of care my partner requires, her condition, etc, to gauge my work-related capabilities, or does my carer status exempt me from any work-related commitment? I don't wish to come across as 'work-shy', but my care commitment to my partner in itself exceeds typical working hours. It's all rather confusing and quite unsettling.
