You got it in one @StarryEyed.
For some reason when I imagine looking out of that window I can imagine being surrounded by the sea, and it just goes on for miles, and miles, and miles.

What kind of liminal space pics do you find comforting Rachel?
0 -
I don't think I find any of them really comforting. I guess there are some that I would consider dreamy or peaceful. Something like this, but I'm very particular!
What do you think of this one?

It's a great image Rachel_Scope, it fills me with peace.

Imagine having a nap there. It'd be amazing.

Here's some more peaceful ones.

They're lovely @Ross1975. I especially like the first one.
Here's a creepy one. I get the impression that something bad is going to happen there. Like an evil cult is going to try and brainwash new members. How does it make you feel?

There is film out at the moment called Backrooms and it really, really reminds me of the pictures in this thread! I'm going to watch it on Saturday so I will report back but it looks quite creepy and billed as a horror! Has anybody seen this yet?

Yes @Mary_Scope! This is exactly what this is all about. The backrooms was the start of liminal spaces back in 2002. I'm excited to see the film. I'd encourage to find out more about the backrooms lore, it's interesting and weird!

Mary_Scope, I haven't seen it yet but I'm very much looking forward to seeing it. I'm waiting for when A24 releases it on Blue Ray or DVD, hopefully a collectors edition or limited edition.

It has like an abandoned look to it, and there's just something very liminal looking about the chairs.

The bricks look very fake.

I like the lighting of Train Station in Denmark.
And the humour of Proof it's Not Flat.
In real life, I found the countryside of Southern Ireland and Holland like a liminal space. I'm from the North and found the complete lack of hills, buildings and people strangely powerful. Massive, wide-open spaces growing food.
I've rarely enjoyed horror films since (IMHO) the 90s did them best, but Backrooms is a truly chilling watch. Not jump scares, just open to all sorts of scary interpretation. It's available to watch on all the usual free online places.

Those trains almost look like robot heads with glowing eyes. Did you know that the Backrooms movie has done way better than the latest Star Wars movie?

I'm sure this is Ai, but, what on Earth could a room like this be used for?

I've only just seen this @Ross1975, I love it! The fake house facade is so creepy.
I played Escape the backrooms game on xbox with my friend and apart from the first level with the classic yellow walls, the levels we got to didn't feel very liminal which was a shame. We didn't get far though so there may be some good ones. The monsters made us scream π

I would really like to play a Backrooms or liminal space video game, but I don't have a modern console, and my PC isn't a gaming one. I could get a modern console but to be honest I just don't really have the space for another one.

I don't know if you'd need a gaming PC @Ross1975. I play games on my old Mac but to be fair they're more simple games that don't need much processing power. Maybe have a look on Steam to see what you can find that would work on your PC?

Gorgeous train shots! Wow. Not even tempted to see Backrooms now. Yikes!
A mall !!! A mall !!! I want a mall in there. π
I love the first one! PiΓ±a colada, please!
Delightful!!! One of my favourite songs comes to mind.... "Dreamer" by Supertramp.
