💜 Purple Tuesday 💜 - Accessibility Poll
Purple Tuesday is a hugely significant day to raise more awareness about the importance of accessibility, and a day to encourage businesses to do more to create a fairer and more inclusive society. 17% of the world are disabled, and although we've come some way, the barriers the community still face is simply not acceptable.
According to the Purple Tuesday website, the UK Disability Survey reported that:
- 78% of disabled people find shops and shopping centres inaccessible or inconvenient.
- 66% of disabled people find pubs, clubs and bars inaccessible or inconvenient.
- 48%of disabled people find theatres, cinemas or art venues inaccessible or inconvenient.
Alongside this, it's been identified that over 70% of disabled people will NOT return to a business if they receive poor customer service.

Sophie Butler is doing amazing things on social media raising awareness about inaccessibility. She recently raised awareness of a brand new theatre in London being completely inaccessible after they invited her to a musical.
It is very shocking that in 2025 brand new buildings are still being developed and built with such little (or no) accessibility in mind!!0
