I decided to join Scope's community online, because I experience a number of disabilities which for the most part are what are sometimes called 'hidden disabilities' or maybe 'invisible disabilities'. I've coped with depression on and off for as long as I can remember, and twelve years ago I had a major heart attack and so now experience a significant degree of disability from heart failure. I also joined to try and find a way back to some kind of meaningful life beyond the home and loving family. It's not easy to say, but I feel like I am a burden most of the time and coping with the repeated withdrawn benefit claim because it's near impossible to express ones troubles to a stranger on the telephone. When someone asks how you are doing, its the British way to say, "Oh I'm doing fine", when in fact one is not…. Depression and Heart failure is why I am here on the Scope Community. What do I expect - I have no real idea!
