HiHi, I'm hoping somebody can help me back. In August 2020, when COVID was upon us, I was receiving my disability person independent payment and my working and child tax credits, and then the company I work for closed down. I was only working 16 hours this change its circumstance. Let me to make a claim of universal credits when I made my claim. I told them that I receive a disability benefit. And also that I am limited of the work that I can do because of my disability. Should I have gotten disability premiums? Because I've receiving a disability. Should I have been given my limited capability of work-related activity payment? Which took absolutely months and was never backdated. I was worse off once I was once I made the claim to universal. Can somebody point me in the right direction of is the company I can turn to or does anybody know what I should have been getting cause I?Ve still never got any disability premiums , and i'm i'm sure i've been paid wrong all this time

There are no disability premiums paid with Universal Credit. They don't exist.

Being on PIP doesn't increase UC entitlement apart from (in some very specific circumstances) some impacts on Housing Element.

PIP doesn't have any impact on the Work Capability Assessment process which is what you have to go through to be awarded LCWRA.

For new claims LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA gets added to your UC award. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.

The only way to be awarded LCWRA automatically upon claiming UC is to have an existing award of ESA in the Support Group.

Hi @Jolesley1970, welcome to the community. Unfortunately, Kimi is right about the premiums. And as she mentions above, the wait for your LCWRA payments may also be normal depending on your circumstances.

If you're worried you've not been paid correctly, it may be worth getting in touch with a benefits professional so they can take a look at your whole case. If you'd like to do that, Turn2Us have a place to search for local help: https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

Sorry if this is disappointing news. It's a confusing system to navigate sometimes, but our members have lots of experience if you have any more questions. Hope you're managing okay ☺️
