Crumbs in the butter!

Living alone I don't have to worry about it but I was watching a recipe video just now and they opened their butter and there were toast or bread crumbs all in it 🤢 I know really it's a minor thing but it irritates me 😆

What mild annoyances or things do you not like??

    Oh I thought of another!!

Trying to cook and reading the packet instructions, putting it in the bin and immediately forgetting them!! I have to dig them out repeatedly and it happens every time 😅

Sink food! Leftover food on a plate, fine. People leaving bits of food in the plughole, 🤢

I live in a houseshare so I feel I could spout off household minor inconveniences for days 😁

But also, having long hair when it's windy. Even if it's tied up, there's suddenly hair in my eyes, sticking to my mouth. No thank you!

    Crumbs in the butter🤢 Yuck!!!🤢

I also really dislike when people use the same knife for butter and then jam/marmite and then it just mixes all together!!

@Rosie_Scope that's reminded me of living in a house share and 🤢wet swollen food in the sink hole was so bad!! Or people leaving food rotting on the cooker etc and never washing plates until they start to grow things!! *Shudder*

Ooooh yeah @Mary_Scope!! My brothers used to do this, it put me off ever using jam or marmite, I've always used a separate knife because it just feels so wrong!!!

Reading the other thread, I couldn't think of any bad habits, but knew I must have some…

This one makes me realise crumbs in the butter is definitely one of mine. I live alone and only use butter for toast so I'm not bothered about crumbs in it! 😆

Another one that others probably consider a bad habit is the bread bag. I never re-tie the end, just twist it a few times and push that against the back of the cupboard to hold it in place. 😄

I don't like crumbs on the unit though. Seem to be forever wiping those off! Also tap bread over the sink before putting it in the toaster in an effort to reduce the volume of crumbage. 😅

I hate hair in the plughole

@Amberpearl yes me too! It somehow becomes much more disgusting once it leaves your head!

I thought of another one - my clothes getting caught on something when I walk past. Especially when I'm already in a bad mood. How dare that doorknob inconvenience me even further?! 😂

To be fair @OverlyAnxious I don't think the crumbs are as big a deal if you are the only one using the butter / they're your own crumbs!

I think I've seen you say about shaking the bread to get rid of crumbs before as I do this too and think of you every time I have toast now 😂 literally never heard of anyone else doing it before you!! I twist my bread and shove it against something to hold in place too - never considered it a bad habit until now!! Do people really spend time re-tieing or securing it with that sticky label thing again???

Oooh @Rosie_Scope I hate that!! I had a cardi I love to wear but the pockets are just the right height that I catch them on EVERYYYYYYY door handle in my house!!

Sorry @onmylonesome 😔 I hope you either find a way to like it or find a way to change it soon!

I have to admit I quite like living alone, I can't imagine living with someone else now, even though I do get lonely at times. But I like being able to do things MY way, to my schedule! There are lots of benefits to living alone ❤️

I think its more being alone rather than living alone, its a long story that I don't want to air on here…billy no mates is the easiest way to explain it.

Ah I can relate to being billy no mates! 🤣 Being alone can be hard and like I said earlier I definitely get lonely sometimes too

I did meet some very special and amazing friends on here though ❤️

I don't like milk alternatives. I've tried so many over the years and I don't do great with cows milk, but it's almost worth the discomfort because the others are so baaaad!

That's just reminded me of another one…the entire washing load getting caught inside a fitted bed sheet and coming out of the dryer just as wet as it went in!

Yes @OverlyAnxious!! That drives me mad. I try to remember to do the buttons on quilt covers because they're terrible for it. We always lose some socks!

I'd love to know where my socks go?? I'm forever buying new socks cause for some reason 1 always dissapears so I have a bunch of odd socks. Who's stealing my 1 sock??

So I googled where the socks go @rubin16 and I just had to share this really useful answer from Google AI:

"Socks go in the washer with your other clothes." 😂

For a proper answer, they can slip into the rubber seal on the door and even between the inner and outer drums. I'd love to take the washing machine apart to see how many are in there. I have a collection of odd socks waiting for their partners! I think the solution is to buy 20 pairs of the same sock😂
