Support is Infrastructure not Charity

Cerebral palsy isn’t the barrier.
The barrier is when support systems don’t work.

When support works well:
• People stay in employment
• Families remain stable
• Skills and talent are retained
• Health outcomes improve
• Communities benefit

From accessible transport and housing, to workplace adjustments and peer networks — these are not “extras”. They are the foundations of equality.

Through my work with the CP community at Scope, I see the difference the right support makes. It enables participation. It prevents crisis. It strengthens society.

Awareness month is important. But action — particularly at the system level — is what creates lasting change.
