Hello so i'm just looking for some advice please, i'm currently in receipt on UC LCWRA with full transitional protection i currently live in a one bedroom place while also being in receipt of enhanced rate pipe care/mobility, i receive financial help within UC towards rent/council tax,

my parent has cancer and is experiencing a full relationship breakdown and is going to have to move, the intention is to remain in the same local authority, my parent and i are in dicussion on what to do, they have been in receipt of UC LCWRA despite having reached pension age this is due to having been a mixed aged couple, so my parent has deffered there pension, due to being in receipt of UC, i know that they have full stamps so they will be entitled to the full pension, they're also on Enhanced daily care on pip and standard mobility component, obviously they're going to have to put in a claim for there pension soon now with the relationship breakdown, my question is when they move we have been considering putting in a request to move together into a 2 bedroom house going forward.

my question is i know given they're in receipt of enhanced rate care of pip they should be entitled to pension credit they dont have any savings, but if we were to get a joint tenancy being relatives how would this impact things?

if they're entitled to pension credit how would this affect the rent payment side of pension credit would they still pay half of the rent or the full amount?

secondly how would my benefits be impacted by this, would my amount be reduced? would i loose my transitional protection, given the protected amount will have been awarded as previously having SDP back on ESA given i live alone,

any advice would be greatly appreciated, trying to figure all of this out,

kind Regards

Rose
