Thank you letting me join the group. At present I am fighting my PIP claim, as I am sure many of you are. The DWP have decided that my mobility difficulties have almost vanished. I have gone from full mobility component DLA to zero mobility PIP. This left me practically house bound, as the car has had to go back. I am at present the appeal stage, which makes me feel physically sick every time I think of it. Has anyone out there been through this ordeal and do they have any tips?

Gather as much evidence as you can, from every medical professional you are in contact with. Talk to DIAL and CAB and the benefits advisers here. Talk to the CPAG too. Good luck.

Susiloo1, how was your walking measured - indoors or outdoors? If it was measured indoors, then your assessment was invalid. The DWP's own PIP handbook states that walking must be assessed outdoors using pavements and kerbs. Here is the link to the handbook.

The reference to walking measurement is on p.11
You could also take a look at Disability Rights guide to PIP on their website. -
And, if you haven't already done so, phone DWP and ask for a copy of the assessor's report.
