Hello,

My name is Jamie Knight, i have joined in order to help and support others and as a place to ask questions. My day job is with the BBC (where i am a member of the digital accessibility team) but i am also autistic and am mid transition to independent living with the help of a direct payment budget.

I have been non verbal (i can't speak) and using AAC as my primary communication since august 2015 after a routine operation anaesthetic went a bit wrong. My speech is slowly recovering.

I've been presenting about autism and tech for about 10 years and i have written magazine articles for both technical magazines and autism publications. I was recently featured on BBC news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/disability-37560841

I am never seen far from my plushie sidekick, Lion who go everywhere with me!
