Completing the mobility part of the PIP assessment?

Anyone struggling with completing the mobility part of the PIP assessment? I am completely reliant on my car to drive to work etc. I also use an in-car sat nav to help keep me focussed  & text my partner when I arrive (I once nodded off & bounced off the kerb after a particularly bad few nights due to severe arthritis pain) I don't drive at night anywhere- too exhausted by then & don't drive long / unfamiliar journeys anymore either. If I have to go somewhere I don't know, my partner either drives me either on the day or beforehand to check out the route, parking, access etc.  I certainly can't use public transport anymore Does that mean I can plan a familiar journey unaidedor not?

Hi @jabe the CAB have a great guide to filling out the PIP forms that it might be worth you taking a look at.

Here is their advice on the mobility part. Best of luck!

Thank you Sam - that's very helpful. The worst thing about this whole process is that it almost forces you to dwell on the negative side of your condition(s) instead of trying to think positive & make the best of it. Thank you for your prompt reply - it is much appreciated

    Hi @jabe

I have just responded to your other post about this query - hopefully there is something useful in my last reply!

    Best wishes,

    Kirsty

Yes, jabe, unfortunately we do have to focus on the negative aspects of our disabilities in order to score PIP points.  Remember that your disabilities have to affect you badly at least 50% (at least four days a week) of the time.
