I am profoundly deaf in one ear and now losing hearing rapidly in the other. I wear hearing aids and lip read. I have recently started learning sign language.
I am a storyteller telling tales in schools and libraries to both children and adults. I live in Ayrshire.

It's great that you're learning sign language. How is that coming along?

I passed the first part of my intro to BSL test on Thurs eve. Fingers crossed for part 2 next week!
Also met lots of other BSL learners at an informal gathering in Prestwick on Wed eve. I have such a lot to learn. It is hard to find people to practise with but is so interesting.

    That's amazing - congratulations!

I'm mildly deaf and whilst I've yet to take a qualification in BSL, I've learned a fair bit through my friends who use sign language. It's such a wonderful language to learn, isn't it?

    Good luck with part three!
