Joining this community as I'm a children's author with a 10-y-o son who has cerebral palsy, as a result of which I'm doing my best to counteract the dearth of disabled characters in children's fiction!

Hi. Welcome to the Community!
Thanks for following up on our suggestion to come on in, and congrats on your recent awards nomination.
You'll find great information and discussion here including discussions on Cerebral Palsy and Parents and Carers.
You can find them all in our discussions and groups categories.
As an older guy with CP myself, I think it's pretty cool what you're doing.

Many thanks Steve and Mike. So glad to find this forum. Since Thimble Monkey Superstar was shortlisted from the Lollies my son Jordi (who has CP and is the inspiration for the narrator) has been on BBC Radio Wales and featured in the South Wales Echo, but it's proving difficult to build awareness further afield. I'm lucky to have had a decent career as a writer but nothing has been more important to me than this.
Aslong as the subject is appropriate I'll get Jordi to have a look at this forum as well, so if there's anything we can usefully contribute to, we will!
