Hi @Toffee, well done you, one more thing to tick off your to-do list. I’m still waiting for the copy of the assessors report (two weeks now) and the result of my mandatory reconsideration. At my last counselling session on Tuesday, at the drug and alcohol place, I broke down with the stress of it all, they were brilliant, she’s told me to try and concentrate on one day at a time and not to overthink the future. I’m trying to keep my mind off stuff by reading and watching tv and, when my hands are working something like ‘normal’ doing jigsaws on my phone and knitting! What an exciting life I lead! How are you today? Xx

Hi @Toffee, so good to hear from you my lovely and hope you’re ok. Got the assessors report on Friday and I’m absolutely furious. She’s told blatant lies about the musculoskeletal exam she carried out e.g. she says my wrist movements are normal, I was wearing splints with metal bars and didn’t take them off to perform any actions!! Same with my ankle movements, I wore ugg boots to the assessment and didn’t take them off either!! To say I’m livid is an understatement. How these people can get away with this is beyond me, my husband is going to lodge a complaint about her with Atos as I seriously doubt her ability to carry out a truthful assessment. In addition to the bare-faced lies, she’s twisted what I said on more than one occasion, no wonder the DWP person came to the conclusions she did re my abilities. Honestly, parts of her report might have well been written about someone else! My mum has suggested sending photos of what I was wearing to the assessment and of my swollen ankles and lower legs as she’s told the DWP there was no sign of swelling - she didn’t look the stupid woman! Hope you get your letter soon honey, much love xxx

But we have to fight not to let them get away with it sending big hugs and support if you need it xx

Thank you so so much @Toffee, that means so much to me my lovely and I hope you’re not too sad today x I’ve just read an article posted on another site that says the assessments for PIP and ESA are to be recorded from now on. Not sure if this applies to just new claims or all but, hopefully, will prevent more disabled people having to go through this nightmare and weed out those ‘health care professionals’ that aren’t, in my opinion, qualified to assess a paper bag much less a persons disabilities. Sending you love and hugs xxx

    Hi everyone
I had my tribunal for pip 2 weeks ago and i lost. I was appealing to have standard rate increased to enhanced as i was only 3 points off daily and 2 off mobility. And the assesor hadnt been interested in what i was telling her. So i got a brilliant letter from my gp stating the daily effects my illness has on my daily life along with other evidence from 3 seperate specialists. I also wrote a detailed letter explaining the reasons for my appeal which i believe none of the panel even read which they made obvious from the qs they were firing at me. I wish everyone luck for up coming assesments /tribunals but be prepared and keep your wits about you. Its ridiculous the way ill people are treated

Hi @Toffee, well done you. I’ve heard nothing yet, sent second letter recorded delivery today with a photo of my swollen ankles. Guess it’s just a waiting game. Hubby wrote the letter for me breaking it down into sections and dealing with each untruth as told by the assessor. He hasn’t outright called her a liar, just pointed out the errors, in particular the total fabrication of the musculoskeletal exam she said she carried out. Sending you love and hugs xxx

Oh @Toffee, so sorry to hear your hb has been suspended hun and you’ve got nothing from income support. How they expect people to manage is beyond me, is that because of the esa problem? I couldn’t agree more, they just don’t care, we’re just faceless entities. Husband and I just discussing the mess that is esa and pip, he’s wondering if they actually read the letters we send in or whether they just refer back to the original report from the health care assessor. As mine is just a pack of lies I hope they do read my letters and the supporting documents but who knows! It’s just horrendous that we’re put through this. I’m 58, have worked and paid into the system, now, when I need help, I’m made out to be a liar. They have no idea how awful my life is, every morning I have to drag myself around, I’m in constant pain, can’t do any of the things I used to enjoy and now, on top of it all, this disgusting treatment by the dwp - whom I used to work for back in the day. Keep me posted sweetie, and I hope you have a better day too. Hugs back xxx
