Living Options Devon is a small yet very effective local Disabled People User Led Organisation that has always had much respect for Scope’s work. They have just heard that one of their projects, Heritage Ability, has made it to the finals in the Heritage category of the National Lottery Awards! They are the only finalist championing accessibility for disabled people in their category! To win this prestigious award would help further raise the profile of access issues, with the winners appearing on the One Show on prime time TV!

There are 3 easy ways to vote.

The three year project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and will see improvements in the accessibility of over 20 heritage sites in the south west. Their partner sites include a range of visitor experiences, from Country Parks and grand homes to industrial sites and nature reserves. They are placing the award-winning Trampers, an all-terrain mobility vehicle, in these places for anybody who needs them, to open up the physical locations. This will also lead to a raft of online improvements, staff training and new products. Everything is focused on improving the accessibility of our heritage in the South West- although if they win this award they would like to expand the approach to other areas of the UK.

Voting closes on July 27th and more information can be found at www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards
